Steve Coogan has proven himself a major filmmaker with the profound and provocative "Philomena" and here, with a more modest job, inhabits a flawed but lovable TV host who tests his partner but luckily for him, keeps him in the end. Paul Rudd, as usual, is the one you wish would come for you someday. Very timely story, not about coming out, but about managing a long-term relationship, our generation's defining issue.
