I knew Michael Coleman's work a little from when he lived in the Bay Area (now he's in the Big Apple, living the dream). This group now joins my favorite BA outside bands Bristle, Wiener Kids and Grex. Given the modest resources of the group -- just three players: Kasey Knudsen-alto sax & electronics; Michael Coleman-piano, wurlitzer & Yamaha CS-10; Jon Arkin-drums & electronics -- there is a bracing level of ambition in these tracks, which range far and wide across the musical spectrum. Also, romanticism. And... fun!
