This is great soundtrack for a laid-back summer day or evening. A really wonderful intro to Ellen Harper; it's no wonder where Ben got his talent. Lots of stand-out tracks. Many of the songs have an earnest 60's folk vibe that I like a lot - not that they are overly retro, more the sentiment I guess. They are honest and carry a message.The record is also a great vehicle for Ben to showcase a less frequently heard part of his musical range. While I love Ben's more recent projects that dwell more on the hard rocking side of the spectrum, it's really nice to hear him dusting off some of the clean acoustic instrumentation that hooked me back in the day (at least in terms of studio releases - his live shows usually cover this base).Plus it's his mom - how cool is that? I gave a copy to my mom on Mother's Day.
